ConcernCarl App

A Healthcare Information Management Application centered around streamlining medical upkeep.

The Problem

Staying healthy can be an incredibly daunting task. Keeping up with multiple appointments, physician contacts, prescription refills, and other endless tasks associated with maintaining physical health. Many are left frustrated with an overwhelming system, making managing their well-being difficult. The need for an accessible system for individuals and families to manage their health information is evident in the struggles many have navigating the American healthcare system today.

The Solution

Keeping up with appointments, prescriptions, symptoms, previous treatments and all of the other complicated medical information can be overwhelming. With a simple and effective organizational system, users would feel more in control of their health having easy access to everything they need to know to feel their best

Our goal is to allow users to keep this information in one easy-to-navigate, secure application. As well as allow the ability to catalogue doctor visits, appointments, health goals, and current medication

Research and Interviews

With a problem and solution in mind, we conducted interviews to get a general consensus on what people struggled with in terms of healthcare information management and common struggles related to it.

We performed surveys on an age range of 18 to 60 with people we were already familiar with. After 2 weeks we gathered enough information to synthesize it into our app from 9 interviewees and generated design ideas and solutions.

Define

Personas & User Journey Map

With all of the data we gathered from the previous stage, we then compiled our information into developing 3 personas of people that would be likely to use our app. These personas would range from young adults to working middle aged parents.

Once the personas were developed, we also made User Journey Maps for each persona that would give a road map of how they would go about the activity that our app strives to streamline.

Ideate

Sketching & Creative Matrix

After developing the personas we developed a set of “How Might We” questions, which would be a series of questions and improvements that we could possibly touch on to help the development of our app.

Once the questions werer developed, we moved onto sketching ideas to how the app might look and how the user may interact with it. Some features that we chose to focus on was the calendar feature, family overview menu, medical goals, and general information upkeep.

Prototype

Prototype (Lo-Fi)

After developing our sketches, we moved to Figma to further
define our idea into wireframes. Through this process we were able to hone in on what we wanted from the app and how it would function, from the navigational bar to the visual consistency of the app.

Prototype

Test (Hi-Fi)

After we finished the inital wireframes, we moved onto developing the screens themselves into high fidelty prototypes. This involved not only refining our wireframes with color and consistency, but we also had to implement interaction between screens so that
an example of how the app would function may be demonstrated.

For the color pallette, a mixture of bright oranges and dark blues were chosen. While we wanted to retain a medical asthetic with the app, we wanted the app to appear inviting, calming, and friendly, so hues of blues and oranges were chosen
