Mesopotamian Metropolis

Babylonian Metropolis is my interpretation of what life within the Mesopotamian city of Uruk would’ve been like. The artwork depicts the perspective of someone entering the city and is presented with a bustling city with people engaging in daily life, all while the ziggurat looms over all in the background. I really wanted to give emphasis on the liveliness of the city so I made sure that the space was properly populated, from people entering the city with the viewer to a bustling marketplace in the back.
